MFD Firefighter Returns from Marine Corps. Basic Training!

Tanker to Circleville for 3 Alarm Barn Fire

At 2155 hours on October 24th, MFD was dispatched under mutual aid with one tanker to the scene of a 3 alarm barn fire off of King Road in the Circleville Fire District. C1 and E-223 operated on scene for several hours, assisting Circleville with water shuttle and fire suppression before returning to service.

At 0915 hours on October 22nd, MFD was dispatched to a two car MVA with possible entrapment at Route 17K and Route 208. C1 and R-222 arrived to find two vehicles involved with one patient trapped. Fire Prevention at Montgomery Elementary School

Friday, October 8th, MFD firefighters participated in the annual fire prevention demonstration at MES. Firefighters educated students on fire safety and gave them tours of Ladder 221 and Rescue 222. MFD also invited Maybrook FD to the detail, as Maybrook Elementary has been closed and some students were transferred to MES.

Rescue Runs Car Down Embankment on Route 17K

At 1618 hours on October 8th, MFD was dispatched to a MVA in the area of Route 17K and the Winding Hills Golf Course. C1 and R-222 arrived to find one vehicle down an embankment with an injured individual. Crews assisted EMS with patient care and packaging and disconnected the battery before returning to service.

Engine Runs Vehicle Fire on Benedict Road

On October 4th, at 1458 hours, MFD was dispatched to a reported vehicle fire on Benedict Road. C3 and E-219 arrived to find a single vehicle well involved. Crews quickly extinguished the fire before returning to service.

Brush 224 Runs Lawn Mower Fire

At 1622 hours on September 29th, MFD was dispatched to a reported lawn mower on fire off of East Searsville Road. Car 1 and BR-224 responded and found an active fire involving a riding mower. Crews quickly knocked the fire down before returning to service.

MFD Takes “Best Overall” at 100th Annual OCVFA Parade!

MFD participated in the 100th annual OCVFA parade in Woodbury, NY with 12 members, T-221, and C3. Members spent the last week detailing the aerial in hopes of bringing home a 1st place aerial trophy. MFD was pleasantly surprised when their hard work on the aerial, marching, and color guard landed them the coveted “Best Overall” trophy for the parade. …

MFD Covers Silver Lake Fire District

On August 30th at 0113, MFD was requested to standby with Truck 221 in the Silver Lake Fire District while they operated at a 2nd alarm structure fire at Huffman Koos Furniture on Route 211.

Engine Runs Dumpster Fire at MES.

On August 30th at 1435, MFD was dispatched to a reported dumpster fire at the Montgomery Elementary School that was set by juveniles. E-219 and Brush 224 quickly extinguished the fire and turned the scene over to PD.

MFD Trains on Ground Ladders

Montgomery firefighters performed at an exterior ladder company operations drill tonight. Members accessed the roof from Truck 221 along with using ground ladders. Topics included when, where and why to vent, ladder safety, tools for the job and scene safety.
