Brush Fire, Mutual Aid 3 Alarm Fire, and Landing Zone Make for a Busy Afternoon
At 1606 on April 24th, MFD was dispatched to a small mulch fire at the Shoprite plaza. Command quickly extinguished this small fire. Then, not even an hour later at 1658, MFD was dispatched mutual aid with one ladder to the scene of a dwelling fire in the Circleville Fire District. T-221 responded under the 2nd alarm call but the blaze was quickly updated to a 3rd alarm, bringing in additional tankers and manpower to battle the fire. Montgomery crews assisted Circleville with ventilation, overhaul, and fireground duties and operated on scene for over an hour. While T-221 was operating in Circleville, MFD was dispatched to have an Engine respond to the rear of their fire station to set up a landing zone for an inbound medical helicopter. Town of Montgomery Ambulance had been operating at a medical emergency and requested MFD to set up a landing zone. Engine 219 handled this incident.
