Crews Handle 2 Alarm Structure Fire on Roswind Lane

At approximately 0305 on January 6th, MFD was dispatched to a reported structure fire at 4 Roswind Lane in the Town of Montgomery (an un-hydranted area). Car 5 (Reynolds Jr.) was first on scene and confirmed a working fire and transmitted the 2nd Alarm. Car 3 (Sharpe) arrived shortly after and assumed incident command. The tanker task force assignment on the box was also transmitted, bringing multiple water tankers to the scene to fight the fire. Command reported a working fire, fire throughout the entire structure in a 1 story, wood frame, ranch style private dwelling with everyone out of the house. Companies quickly went to work, 2 lines were stretched in operation and an aggressive interior attack was done. A 3rd line was stretched to cool an external propane tank on the side of the fire building. Primary searches were completed and came up negative. The main body of fire was knocked down after several minutes. Truck 221 started opening up and checking for extension and continued to extinguish and expose hot spots along with engine crews. The fire was placed under control with no reported injuries. Units returned to quarters in service at approx. 0600. Montgomery FD was assisted on scene by Walden FD, Wallkill FD, Maybrook FD, Coldenham FD, Air Guard FD, Town PD, and Mobile Life Ambulance.
