E-223 Runs Vehcile Fire on Route 17K as MFD Handles Numerous Alarms

At 1829 hours on July 7th, MFD was dispatched to a possible vehicle fire on Route 17K in the area of Barley Hill Road. MFD units arrived to find a well involved engine compartment fire on the vehicle. Firefighters knocked the fire down in under five minutes as a severe storm began to move in. Once the fire was knocked down, E-223 responded further up Route 17K to a tree and wires on fire call. Over the next two hours, MFD would handle over 10 storm related calls ranging from motor vehicle accidents, tree and wires down, trees into houses, medical emergencies, and a brush fire from downed electrical lines. MFD was assisted by Maybrook FD with an engine during the storm, as all of Montgomery’s units were tied up at different scenes across the district.
