Engine and Tanker Run Active Propane Leak

At 1221 hours on December 27th, MFD was dispatched to a propane leak off of Corbett Road. Car 1 arrived to find a 1,000 lbs underground propane tank leaking after being hit by a lawn mower. Engine 223 arrived and stretched a hand line to disperse the vapor cloud from a nearby residence. Engine 219 arrived soon after and pumped water to E-223 while the crew checked the residence with a gas meter. Car 1 also requested a tanker from Bullville to the scene and an engine from Maybrook to standby at MFD. The leak was stopped with assistance from an AC Howell propane technician.
