Ladder, Engine, Tanker to Bullville for 3 Alarm Structure Fire
At 11:34 on March 21st, the Montgomery FD was dispatched for one ladder to the scene of a working structure fire on Long Lane in the Bullville Fire District and 1 Engine stand-by Bullville’s station. Soon after arrival, Bullville command requested a full 2nd alarm and a tanker task force. This brought Engine 223 off of stand-by in Bullville and to the scene of the fire to function as a tanker. Soon after this request, Bullville command requested a 3rd alarm tanker task force for additional water to the scene. The 3rd alarm request brought Montgomery Engine 219 to the scene of the fire to function as a tanker. All 3 Montgomery crews assisted Bullville in fire attack, search, ventilation, water shuttle, and overhaul. The vast amount of tankers were needed due to the remoteness of the area and lack of fire hydrants. While Montgomery was operating at the fire, Mechanicstown FD stood by Montgomery’s station to cover all calls. This was Montgomery’s second mutual aid working fire in 24 hours, the first being a mutual aid call to Walden for one ladder to the scene in the early morning hours.
