Members of the MFD participated in a live fire exercise on April 7th, hosted by the Maybrook FD over the weekend. For this training the old Roadside Inn, which was set to be demolished, was host to various training exercises. Firefighters from Maybrook, Montgomery, Coldenham, Bullville, Pine Bush, Campbell Hall, and Washingtonville participated in numerous room and content fire attacks, roof cutting, search and rescue, and horizontal venting scenarios. Each company spent time stretching line to fight actual room fires, venting the roof above the fire, venting the windows of the fire room, and searching smoke and heat filled rooms. This type of training is valuable to our members because it allows us to train in a realistic environment, instead of a wide open concrete burn building.
