On Wednesday December 4th, after the annual meeting and elections of the Wallkill Engine and Hose Company #2, members were presented with a duplicate copy of their company constitution. In the past, as new members joined the engine company they would be allowed to sign the original document, which dated from the early 1900’s. Over the years, the documents became too fragile to take from the case to sign. Members recently voted to have the original framed in a special frame to preserve it and have two duplicate copies made. One of the copies would have all the original signatures on it while the other would have only the constitution, so as to provide more room for new signatures.
