At 1336 hours on Wednesday July 2nd, MFD was dispatched to a reported structure fire on Hill Ave. Initial reports were hat lightening had struck the house and that it was smoking. Car 2 (Hank) and E-219 quickly responded and found a two story wood frame house with smoke pushing from the roof. A second alarm was transmitted to get more manpower and water to the scene. While E-219 stretched a line to the second floor, T-221 went to the roof and began to open up. MFD operated for about two hours before the fire was declared under control. Damage was contained to one room and some attic space of the residence. MFD was assisted on scene by Walden FD, Bullville FD, Pine Bush FD, State PD, Town PD, MLSS, and the OC Fire Investigators. Maybrook and Campbell Hall FDs stood by at Montgomery’s station.
