Just past noon, at 1211 hours on November 30th, MFD was dispatched to a reported structure fire off of Patchett Way. Car 1 arrived to find an active fire on the second floor balcony of a two story apartment building. Engine 223’s crew stretched a hand line to the fire floor as the truck arrived to begin searches. The fire was quickly knocked down with a can and crews opened up an exterior wall to check for extension and wet down hot spots. Initial automatic response companies, a tower ladder from Coldenham and an engine from Bullville, were stood down as MFD quickly declared the incident under control. Units were back in service within the hour.
